The existing street facade and historic walls are retained and refurbished to maintain the continuity of the Conservation Area.
A new T-shaped building at the rear of the site features massing which echoes the backland infil seen as an important part of the character of the area. Varied roof forms are in keeping with the adjacent properties.
The introduction of a green roof and provision for future links to the city’s district heating program help this brownfield development minimise its impact whilst helping to sustain the Conservation Area through active use and preservation of its buildings.
