Planning approval granted for the redevelopment of a former garden centre site in the Whiteladies Road Conservation Area of Clifton, providing 12 new dwellings with associated parking and landscaping. The scheme will provide a terrace of 8 townhouses along Chantry Road, together with a rear courtyard containing 4 additional mews houses.
The detailed pre-application process, during which a full range of uses for this site were considered, has afforded the opportunity to engage with neighbours, amenity groups and the local authority to monitor the issues, needs and aspirations of the local community.
The proposals maintain continuity to the Chantry Road street scene in building line and form, meeting the policy objectives of preserving and enhancing the character of the Conservation Area.
Stone is utilised as a key material to link with the historic character of the Conservation Area. This is complemented with brickwork together with zinc roof and bays to provide a clean and crisp finish.
