Affordable Housing Redevelopment
Approved planning application for the redevelopment of 414 Speedwell Road to provide 13 no. one and two bed apartments with 100% affordable allocation to help meet the accommodation needs of the area.
The design proposals have been developed for the Affordable Housing provider United Communities.
The proposals follow previous unsuccessful attempts to market the property for sale in its current form as commercial premises due to its unsuitable location, configuration and condition.
It is therefore become necessary to investigate acceptable change of use to avoid potential extended vacant status and enable the site to maintain a positive contribution to the neighbourhood.
A public consultation event was undertaken in order to gather community feedback, which informed the development of the design proposals.
